It began to rain HARD, so I took the opportunity to visit the library this afternoon. The raindrops were REALLY big and drumming the parking lot hard as I walked out with my old umbrella (which unfortunately began to leak, so guess it's time for me to buy a new one - with GREEN stripes this time!) There was even icy hail mixed in the heavy rain (in late June?!) and the sidewalks soon turned into running creeks that I had to wade through (I had on flip-flops, though.)

That is such a glorious kind of rain and it's perfect for a picnic I'm having today! (I can go to one of those roofed areas in the nearby park, BTW. And the picnic tables there also had new tops just installed, looks like.) I am bringing along baked ham and cheese roll-ups, a container of hot vegetable A-B-C soup, and fruit kabobs that I'm making with molasses glaze and maybe some rainbow sprinkles, too. I don't know if the rain will soon let up or not, though.

One other thing...I'm such a rotten inker. Most of my older comic strips have such disgusting mess that I made with my inking brush at the time and sadly, I don't seem to have improved lately (I really struggled with the shade under one of Arcee's wings just NOW, even messing it up! And one of the most recently inked strips didn't look so hot, either.) Maybe I will have to end up hiring an inker to do my art, but he or she may risk misinterpreting what I drew, so I guess I'll have to practice some more at inking. Unfortunately, it's not easy for me to get ahold of good brushes or ink where I live.

Oh, and BTW, Michael Jackson just died yesterday. So did one of the original "Charlie's Angels"! This means nothing lasts forever - not my generation's youth, nor today's youth, no one, ever.
